fop software package provides XML formatter driven by XSL Formatting Objects (XSL-FO.) - app, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fop
fop is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fop package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fop *
You will get with fop package name, version, architecture and description in a table
